This acceptable use policy forms part of our terms and conditions and applies to all plans, including the free “Free” plan. It is a translation of the German original; only the German version is binding.
1. Principle: only with authorisation
ApkSee is a tool for development, quality assurance, security testing, research and automation. You may only use it on apps, devices, accounts, servers and services that belong to you or for which you have the express permission of the rights holder (e.g. a testing engagement, a bug bounty programme with matching scope, or a written authorisation). You must be able to prove that authorisation on request.
2. Permitted examples
- Security testing and code review of your own apps or of apps belonging to your clients.
- Automated tests, regression tests and quality assurance on your own or on authorised devices.
- Documenting the interfaces of your own or of authorised apps.
- Automating recurring tasks in your own accounts, in so far as the terms of the respective service allow it.
- Research and teaching within the statutory permissions, in particular §§ 69d, 69e UrhG (German Copyright Act).
3. Prohibited
- Unauthorised access to systems, accounts or data, spying on or intercepting third-party data, and circumventing the access controls of other people’s systems.
- Developing, distributing or operating malware, phishing, spyware or stalkerware.
- Circumventing copy protection, license checks, in-app purchases or paywalls of other people’s apps, and distributing modified (“cracked”) apps.
- Fraud, manipulation of advertising, review, ranking or voting systems, generating artificial interactions, mass registration of accounts.
- Automation that breaches the terms of use of the service concerned, e.g. cheating in online games to the detriment of other players, hoarding scarce goods by means of bots for resale, or circumventing queues and purchase limits.
- Bulk extraction of personal data without a legal basis, surveillance of individuals, profiling without their knowledge.
- Load tests, denial of service or similar interference with other people’s services.
- Infringement of copyright, trademarks or other protected rights, and publication of other people’s source code or trade secrets.
- Use to support breaches of sanctions or export control law.
- Attacks on ApkSee itself, on our license servers or on our website outside our security policy.
4. Responsible disclosure
If a permitted test reveals a vulnerability in a third party’s app, report it confidentially to the vendor and allow it a reasonable amount of time to fix it before you publish any details.
5. Consequences of breaches
In the event of breaches we may suspend licenses pursuant to § 8 of the terms and conditions, terminate the contract for cause pursuant to § 5(5) of the terms and conditions and, where provided for by law or necessary to avert serious danger, inform the authorities. Fees already paid are not refunded in this case in so far as the customer is responsible for the termination.
6. Reporting abuse
Please send reports of misuse of ApkSee to [email protected] with the subject “Abuse”.
